Our properties are owned by the Province of Alberta, and the housing management body was established January 1, 1995. Before that time, a variety of community & church groups were managing the portfolio as individual projects and reporting to Alberta Municipal Affairs. When the Ministerial Order came down the housing management bodies were formed and, in most cases, a board member from each site was appointed to the new Board of Directors. There has been changes in participating groups over the years and is currently reflected as this: The municipalities that contribute elected representation are the City of Lloydminster, County of Vermilion River, Village of Kitscoty and Village of Marwayne. In addition, we have volunteer board members from First Baptist Church, Southridge Community Church, Knox Presbyterian Church and a member-at-large appointed by his excellency, the Mayor, for the City of Lloydminster.
Our mission is to provide appropriate, affordable housing for Lloydminster and area persons. With a special emphasis on senior citizens, we will:
- Provide good quality, self-contained units which are appropriate for independent seniors.
- Introduce support services and housing services to those who are unable to manage on their own.
- Encourage the integration of necessary health care services in the facilities where it is warranted.
- Provide for the efficient management of community housing programs in accordance with the needs of the community.
